The Sardine is the little workhorse of the Fire Goby Forge knife range. It is equally at home in the kitchen as a utility knife, in the bush as a hunting or skinning knife, and has even found its way into commercial kitchens as the go-to knife for professional chefs. All in all, it is simply a great little knife! The Sardine Skeliiiton has quite a history. It is a two-thirds-scale version of the infamous "Harry Wolhuter Lion Killer Knife"—the knife with which game ranger Harry Wolhuter famously killed a lion. From the very first time Jean Wilke made this knife, it was a hit. The number of satisfied owners continue to grow every day. The knife is so incredibly light, thin, and sharp that it is used (and abused) for far more than originally intended. The slim blade, featuring a 150 mm radius hollow grind and a paper-thin edge, makes cutting an absolute pleasure. Whether skinning a buck, slicing biltong, or tackling general kitchen duties, you'll soon find yourself thanking Jean Wilke and Fire Goby Forge for this wonderful little knife. The ambidextrous sheath (for left- or right-hand carry) is made from 1.5 mm Kydex and hot-formed to fit the knife like a glove, with the blade "clicking" securely into place. Yes, you can ride your horse and it still won't fall out—until you decide it's time to cut... everything... The quick-release belt clip makes removing and refitting the knife simple and convenient. By repositioning two screws, you can easily switch between vertical and horizontal carry. Details: Steel: AEB-L stainless steel (0.7% carbon) with a black Kal-Gard coating. 150 mm radius hollow grind on the blade. Handle: Available in both Royal and Skeliiiton versions.
